Steven Moffat confirms that Matt Smith is 13th Doctor, Peter Capaldi’s first series won’t be split
I just… I don’t know, man. Now Moffat’s making stuff up about Capaldi being the 14th Doctor. How???? HOW.
Don’t tell me that TenToo aka the Metacrisis Doctor also counts as a legit incarnation. Because that is just poppycock.
#well if we follow this logic capaldi is actually the 15th doctor #seeing as ten regenerated twice in journey’s end #once into himself #and once the doctordonna thing #I haven’t seen that episode in ages #but I’m pretty certain that those events were seperate #sooooo #hello 15th doctor? (tags from dunderklumpen, sorry if I did that wrong) Fair point.
first of all, I will still refer to Christopher Eccleston as 9, David Tennant as 10, Matt Smith as 11, and Peter Capaldi as 12. As I see it, John Hurt’s doctor was like 8.5 since 8 had taken the ‘potion’ in Night of the Doctor to CHOOSE his regeneration, it aided his regeneration therefore it wasn’t a natural regeneration. At the end of The Day of the Doctor John Hurt regenerated into 9, but he was not dying, so why did he regenerate? I see it as a temporary regeneration so that the Doctor could make it through the Time War as a warrior. And as mentioned above, TenToo is not a legitimate regeneration since it was not a regeneration, TenToo is a human clone of the Doctor, NOT A REGENERATION. Back to the point:
Matt Smith is 11
Peter Capaldi is 12
Like the article says, how would the Doctor be able to regenerate 14 times if the max is 12? Well we already know that the Doctor is not just any ordinary Time Lord and he has escaped death many times.
I love a lot of Steven Moffat’s work on Doctor Who, because he comes up with awesome stories. However he has become very intrusive. This is 50 YEARS of Doctor Who history. Yeah, it’s hard work to be the writer of a 50 year old show but you cannot erase all the work the past creators have done to get this show to 2013
